Najera to Santo Domingo de la Calzada - May 12, 2015

YIKKERS!! I am a week behind with this blog. The problem is remembering what the walk/day was like from this point in time. As I recall, this was a moderately challenging walk. We were in the midst of a heat wave that saw 40C +  temps to the south of here. We only got to 33C - which is plenty warm for walking with virtually no shade.
Setting off from Najera

Under 600 km left

World's Least Scary Scarecrow - about 6" high
Hey Bill! - Golf!
Course looked sort of nice but...
Typical Spanish lunch on my lap - Tortilla (actually egg and potato pie) BLT with chorizo - so yummy. Carb and meat heaven (or hell, depending on your outlook)
Peregrino and shell at round-about

It continues
Cathedral in Santo Domingo de la Calzada - won't bore you with the miracle of the chickens. Of all luck, we arrived during the Festival of Santo Domingo which goes on for several days. They thought we were lucky but all it meant was that everything was closed and loud music (and fireworks) went on until 5 am ( and my alarm is set for 6:30am  :-(  )
Moving on the next day.....
